The sportswear market has grown substantially in the past few years, and there are no signs of it slowing down. Sportswear is predicted to generate a staggering £6.7 billion a year of sales by 2023 in the UK alone.
A considerable amount of sportswear sales are as a direct result of the efforts of community sports clubs. There are over 151,000 sports clubs in the UK alone and the vast majority of these are grassroots organisations. Playing sport necessitates a required investment in playing kit, training gear, footwear, gym kit, the list goes on. Not to mention related expenditure on gym memberships, sports nutrition, etc.
We live in a world of social media influencers where someone can share a photo to sell a few hoodies for a brand and get paid handsomely for it. Yet, despite directly influencing sales, the clubs who are generating a significant level of income for brands and retailers, and did so long before social media became a thing, receive little if anything in return. But that’s just the way it is, right? Not any more! At Kitvendr we believe that sports clubs are getting the raw end of a bad deal here and we are changing the way the industry works and putting the interests of clubs first.
The money that community clubs do earn is primarily used to reinvest in sport, helping to grow participation and increasing the number of people who benefit from being part of a sports club. Driving new income into clubs is good for everyone in our view and that’s what we are focused on.
With the effects of the global pandemic now setting in and as clubs look to get back to normality, we are looking forward to helping as many clubs as possible to generate new income. Interested to find out more? Drop us an email or register on our website and we will be in touch.
